September 3, Fineko/abc.az. In January–June of this year, Azerbaijan imported 536 tons of avocados (fresh or dried) worth $1.7 million.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the State Statistics Committee, that this is 28% higher in value and 13% higher in volume compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported avocados as follows: from Peru — $837,000 (up 18% compared to last year) — 253 tons (+10%); from the United Republic of Tanzania — $259,000 (69 times more) — 83 tons (109 times more); from Kenya — $171,000 (6 times more) — 45 tons (5 times more); from Morocco — $101,700 (7 times more) — 28.5 tons (10 times more); from Türkiye — $81,800 (down 63%) — 54.5 tons (down 62%).

Of the 832 tons of avocados imported into Azerbaijan in 2024, 45% came from Türkiye, and 38% from Peru.
