August 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) reported a slowdown in Belarus’ economic growth in January–July 2025 to 1.3% year-on-year, against the backdrop of reduced exports and agricultural output due to a later harvest.
According to ABC.AZ, GDP growth in Belarus stood at 1.3% year-on-year in January–July 2025 after 2.1% year-on-year in January–June. “Growth is driven by sectors focused on domestic demand,” the EDB analysts noted in their weekly review. Retail trade turnover increased by 8.6% year-on-year, while food service turnover grew by 5.1%. Construction and investments maintained stable growth — 9.9% and 13.6% year-on-year, respectively. Meanwhile, industry and agriculture recorded declines of 0.3% and 12.7%, respectively. In 2024, the country’s GDP grew by 4%, while the presidential forecast for 2025 is set at 4.1%.
