July 29, Fineko/abc.az. Tariff risks increased shipments of Indian-made smartphones to the U.S. by 240%.

ABC.AZ reports that India managed to become the largest smartphone supplier in the U.S. by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2025 for the first time in history, this was largely facilitated by Apple's efforts.

According to research firm Canalys, this reflects a shift in the manufacturing supply chain away from China amid uncertainty caused by tariffs.

In the 2nd quarter of 2025, smartphones assembled in India made up 44% of U.S.’ imports of these devices, up significantly from just 13% in the same period in 2024.
