July 2, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-May 2025, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) reached $3.5 billion, ABC.AZ reports, quoting First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev as saying this at the 6th ECO Business Forum.

According to Aliyev, trade relations are the basis of regional integration for Azerbaijan, and in recent years there have been positive trends in this area for the country's business sector.:

"This means an increase of 10% year-on-year. We continue this dynamic with an expanded network of bilateral agreements. Azerbaijan currently has free trade agreements with five member countries of the organization and preferential trade agreements with Turkey and Pakistan. By lowering barriers and opening up markets, this tool further strengthens trade throughout the ECO region."

The deputy minister noted that investment cooperation between Azerbaijan and the ECO member states may change significantly: "As of June 1, 2025, over 10,000 companies from ECO countries are actively operating in Azerbaijan. Since 1995, more than $22 billion has been invested in Azerbaijan from equal member states, which has contributed to the development of key sectors of our economy."
