Head of India's largest industrial conglomerate has died

October 10, Fineko/abc.az. Ratan Tata, an Indian billionaire and honorary chairman of India's largest industrial conglomerate Tata Group, has died in Mumbai at the age of 86.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to NDTV that Ratan Tata became the head of the Tata Group conglomerate worth $100 billion, engaged in the production of steel and software, in 1991. He led the group, founded by his great-grandfather more than 100 years ago, until 2012.

In 1996, he founded telecommunications company Tata Teleservices, and in 2004 he brought the IT company Tata Consultancy Services to the stock exchange. In 2004, Tata Group acquired British automobile brands Jaguar and Land Rover.

It is noted that the products and services of the conglomerate are represented in more than 150 countries around the world. The Group operates in most sectors of industry, and is also known for the car brand of the same name.
