July 12, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st quarter of the current 1402 Iranian calendar year (started on March 21, 2023), the tourist flow to Iran increased by 40%, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Iranian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism & Crafts Ali Asghar Shalbafan.

He added that approx. 1.4 million foreign tourists visited Iran in the first 3 months of this year (40% more against the same term of last year).

The tourist flow to Iran in 2022, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council, increased by 39% compared with the previous year.

According to the WTTC, the revenues of the Iranian tourism sector in 2022 amounted to $6.2 billion.
