Britain to compensate its citizens for price hike

August 24, Fineko/abc.az. British authorities are compelled to compensate residents of the United Kingdom for sharply increased fuel and electricity costs due to the crisis in the amount of more than 100 billion pounds (118 billion dollars) over two years, ABC.AZ reports citing Financial Times.

Such financing in the face of skyrocketing natural gas and electricity prices highlights the scale and depth of the crisis that has gripped the country, said Keith Anderson, chief executive of Scottish Power, one of Britain's top six energy companies.

According to the information, the maximum electricity bill for British households should not exceed 2,000 pounds per year ($2,400). When its cost is higher, the difference in price will be compensated by suppliers through government loans. According to experts, already this week, it will reach 3,000 pounds ($3,500).
