September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released key banking sector statistics for August 2026. Citing the Central Bank, the total retail deposit portfolio of commercial banks (excluding individual entrepreneurs) grew by 9.1% ( 1,487.4 million AZN) since the beginning of the year, reaching AZN 17,810.9 million . Term deposits accounted for 64.7% (11,520.7 million AZN) of total deposits.

During the reporting period, the number of unique term depositors across the banking sector rose by 1.2% (2,692 depositors) month-on-month to 226,056 individuals.

Meanwhile, deposit dollarization decreased by 3.9 percentage points year-on-year to 28.8%. Broad money supply (M2) expanded by 10% year-to-date, reaching AZN 44,416.6 million.
