September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released financial performance indicators for the banking sector covering January–August 2026.

Citing the Central Bank, commercial banks earned a net profit of AZN 949.7 million and an operating profit of AZN 1,487.7 million  during the first 8 months of the year.

According to the data, banks paid a total of AZN 245.8 million in corporate profit taxes during the reporting period. Meanwhile, legal entities' demand deposits amounted to AZN 18,337.0 million, accounting for 76.5% of the total corporate deposit portfolio.
