September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released loan portfolio statistics for the banking sector for August 2026.

 Citing the Central Bank, commercial banks' total loan portfolio expanded by 2.3% (AZN 728.9 million ) month-on-month to AZN 32,824.2 million ( AZN 32,824.2 million).

Business loans accounted for the largest share of the total portfolio at 54.3% (AZN 17,822.9 million ). Consumer loans comprised 31.3% (AZN 10,261.1 million ), while mortgage loans made up 14.4% (AZN 4,740.2 million).

The business loan portfolio grew by 2.8% (AZN 489.9 million) compared to the previous month, reaching AZN 17,822.9 million (AZN 17,822.9 million). Breakdown of business lending shows that large businesses accounted for 54.4% (AZN 9,689.2 million), micro-enterprises 22.0% (AZN 3,925.0 million / $2,308.8 million), medium enterprises 13.2% (AZN 2,350.2 million), and small businesses 10.4% (AZN 1,858.5 million).
