September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released payment systems statistics for August 2026. Citing the Central Bank, the number of active payment cards across commercial banks and "Azerpost" LLC systems increased by 8.7% compared to the corresponding period, reaching 22,974,000 units.

During the reporting period, the volume of cashless transactions in the country grew by 13.2% year-on-year. Regarding payment infrastructure, the number of ATMs rose by 3.8%, while POS terminals experienced a 7% decrease compared to the relevant period.
