September 21, Fineko/abc.az. Anglo Asian Mining PLC, a copper & gold mining company in Azerbaijan, reached a record 6-month high in the 1st half of 2026, producing 8,840 tons of copper, and for the same period in 2025 this figure was 1,188 tons.

The company maintained its annual forecast for total production at 20,000-25,000 tons, and lowered its forecast for total cash costs per ton (AISC) to a range of $6,000-7,000.

The sharp increase is mainly linked with the commissioning of new mines Gilar and Demirli. Demirli field is scheduled to reach full capacity in the 4th quarter.

According to company's CEO Reza Veziri, copper has already become the main metal produced by Anglo Asian. The company aims to increase annual copper production to 50,000-55,000 tons by 2030 and become a medium-scale multi-profile producer through the commissioning of Kharkhar, Garadagh and Zafar mines.
