September 16, Fineko/abc.az. The discussions took place during a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and George Washington University Associate Provost Sevinj Mammadova.

Azerbaijan's State Oil Company SOCAR and George Washington University in the U.S. have discussed cooperation in implementing educational programs, conducting academic research and developing human resources.

The sides noted that the signing of a Letter of Intent on Cooperation between SOCAR and George Washington University during this year's Baku Energy Week had opened new opportunities for partnership. They also reviewed progress in implementing the document.

The meeting also highlighted the partnership between SOCAR's Baku Higher Oil School and George Washington University in training highly qualified professionals. The sides stressed the importance of further expanding cooperation in this area.
