September 16, Fineko/abc.az. European banking giant Deutsche Bank AG has announced a strategic move into the digital assets space by launching a cryptocurrency custody service.

Subject to regulatory approvals, institutional clients will be able to securely store and transfer Bitcoin, Ether, and select stablecoins through Deutsche Bank's platform later this year.

The bank plans to progressively expand its crypto capabilities to cover tokenized financial instruments over time. Gerald Podobnik, Co-Head of Commercial Banking at Deutsche Bank, emphasized that digital assets represent an important complement to traditional finance rather than an alternative. The custody offering will initially roll out to corporate clients in Germany.
