September 18, Fineko/abc.az. The United States has secured 100-year concession rights to 17 Venezuelan oil fields containing an estimated 65 billion barrels of proven crude reserves. According to the Financial Times, the concessions were granted to North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP). Under the deal structure, the U.S. government holds a 35% stake in NABEP alongside special governance rights through a dedicated entity.
The White House described the agreement as the "largest oil deal in world history," guaranteeing long-term control over a massive resource base. Furthermore, the U.S. Department of Defense has been granted preferential procurement rights, allowing the Pentagon to acquire a portion of the crude at production cost and the remainder at prevailing market prices.
