September 17, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2026, 726.7 million kWh of electricity was produced at wind power plants in Azerbaijan (21.8-fold more against the 2025 same term), according to the State Statistics Committee.

Electricity generating at solar power plants increased by 9.4% up to 446.2 million kWh. Electricity production from biomass and waste incineration also increased by 5.6%, reaching 154.9 million kWh.

The overall production of electricity in the country fell by 2.4% year-on-year and reached 17.887 billion kWh. Of them, 17.376 billion kWh accounted for commercial electricity (1.9% less).

Generation at thermal power plants totaled 13.549 billion kWh (a drop of 8.8%) and at hydroelectric power plants - 2.498 billion kWh (a rise of 10.7%).
