September 10, Fineko/abc.az. The quantity of taxpayers in Azerbaijan increased by 4.7% against Jan-Aug 2025 and reached 1,722,227 people as of September 1, 2026.

The State Tax Service (under the Ministry of Economy) informs that according to statistical data, 86.7% of taxpayers are individuals and 13.3% - legal entities. Over Jan-Aug 2026, the number of individual entrepreneurs grew by 4.5% and the number of institutions and organizations by 5.8%. By the end of August, the number of registered commercial organizations increased by 6.6% up to 212,668. In August , 1,114 new commercial organizations were registered, including 85.4% of ones with local and 14.6% with foreign investments.

Business digitalization is also at the high level: in August, 79.7% of commercial organizations and 96.6% of local LLCs were registered electronically. In general, 92.4% of commercial legal entities operate in the form of an LLC.
