Current situation in Azerbaijani economy: growth slows down on

September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 1.2% in real terms, reaching 87.7 bn manats for Jan-Aug 2026.

There was slowdown in economic growth after dynamics of 1.4% for Jan-Jul 2026.

Key economic indicators and official forecasts:

Oil & gas sector: production decreased by 0.8% to 26.2 bn manats (a drop of 0.6% in the previous period).

Non-oil/gas sector: growth rates fell from 2.2% to 2.1% and reached 61.5 bn manats.

Year-end economic expectation: The Ministry of Finance forecasts annual GDP growth of 1.7% (138 bn manat) in 2026.

However, due to the weakening in construction and tourism, growth expectations in the non-oil sector observed decline from 5% to 3.1%.

Inflation forecast: under the influence of import prices, the global food market and regulated tariffs, average annual inflation expectations increased from 4.8% up to 5.7%.
