BYD Lifts Export Targets: Aims for Over 2.5 Million Overseas Sales in 2027

16:15 - 8.09.2026

September 8, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD expects overseas shipments to surpass 2.5 million vehicles in 2027, according to brokerage notes citing recent management briefings. To offset slowing domestic demand in China, the Shenzhen-based automaker also raised its full-year 2026 export guidance to between 1.9 million and 2.0 million units.

The company's expansion strategy relies on ramping up local assembly in plants across Brazil and Hungary to bypass high import tariffs, alongside expanding its dedicated vehicle carrier fleet to overcome shipping bottlenecks.

Management noted that profitability remains healthy, with overseas profit per vehicle expected to hold stable around 20,000 yuan ($2,950).
