August 12, Fineko/abc.az. Nakhchivan possesses immense potential for solar energy. Based on detailed analysis and monitoring, Nakhchivan has been identified as the most favorable site in Azerbaijan for generating solar power.

President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks in an interview with Azerbaijan Television during his visit to Nakhchivan. The head of state revealed that an area exceeding 600 hectares has already been designated for the construction of solar power plants with a capacity of hundreds of megawatts.

President Aliyev emphasized that solar generation capacity in Nakhchivan could reach at least 500 MW and potentially up to 1,000 MW, paving the way for large-scale green energy exports from the region.
