August 12, Fineko/abc.az. The launch of the Zangezur Corridor is expected to generate significant economic momentum, with cargo volumes potentially reaching or exceeding 15 million tons. President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during an interview with Azerbaijan Television in Nakhchivan.

The head of state emphasized that the project will create new job opportunities, boost economic activity, and position Nakhchivan as an indispensable transit hub.

President Aliyev highlighted the growing international interest in the route, particularly in the Nakhchivan section of Azerbaijan Railways.

He noted that the European Union is among the key parties interested in the corridor. EU representatives have already been dispatched to Nakhchivan to inspect the site and explore opportunities to participate in this strategic transit route.
