August 12, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev signed a Decree "On additional measures to accelerate the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic."

The decree aims to expand the use of renewable energy sources in 2026–2027, upgrade road, transport, and educational infrastructure, and continue urban improvement works. A total of AZN 258 million has been allocated for these initiatives.

Key Allocations:

• Hydroelectric Power: AZN 66 million to "Azerenerji" JSC for the construction of the 15.6 MW Tivi HPP in Ordubad;

• Road Infrastructure: AZN 70 million to the Cabinet of Ministers of Nakhchivan AR for the major repair of 420 km of roads connecting 26 settlements;

• Public Transport: AZN 53 million to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport to upgrade the intercity transport fleet;

• Education: AZN 25 million to the Ministry of Science and Education for a 1,000-bed student dormitory at Nakhchivan State University;

• Kindergartens: AZN 20 million to the Cabinet of Ministers of Nakhchivan AR for constructing 5 new preschool institutions with 640 total capacity;

• Housing & Beautification: AZN 15 million to local executive authorities for the renovation of residential buildings and facades;

• Heating Supply: AZN 9 million for the overhaul of 45 heating boiler houses servicing 5,335 apartments.
