June 30, Fineko/abc.az. Livestock markets of Azerbaijan will be organized not in physical, but in stock exchange form.
ABC.AZ reports that Goshgar Tahmazli, the chairman of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan, noted that inspections conducted at livestock markets showed that 28 markets do not meet the current standards:
"These markets did not comply with veterinary and sanitary standards and regulations. As a result, all livestock markets were temporarily suspended. After being brought in line with the standards, 14 livestock markets were reopened. Some of the other markets are currently undergoing reconstruction, and those that cannot be brought in line with modern requirements have been deemed unsuitable for future operations. In the future, after the completion of the identification process and implementation of the Second State Program, transition from physical livestock markets to livestock exchanges will be ensured. The Agency has already achieved 100% digitalization in the areas of import and export. In other areas, the level of digitalization exceeds 94%. After this process is fully completed and the animals are identified, our goal is to introduce modern livestock exchanges instead of transporting animals from point A to point B, selling them in markets, and then selling them. In this case, the buyer will be able to see all the information about the desired animal on the electronic platform in advance, including the indicators reflected in the identification system, evaluate them, and then place an order."
