June 25, Fineko/abc.az. The US Federal Reserve System (Fed) has published the results of its annual stress testing of the country's largest financial institutions.
The regulator has confirmed that the leading US banks have sufficient resilience to survive deep recession and continue lending to individuals and businesses.
ABC.AZ informs that 32 large banks were audited this year, including such systemically important structures as Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo.
According to the hypothetical scenario, despite the cumulative projected loss of the banking sector of more than $708 billion, the overall capital indicator decreased by only 1.6 p.p., remaining well above the regulator-set minimums. The Fed noted that the test results would not affect the current capital requirements, which will remain in place until 2027.
