ABC.AZ reports, citing Eurostat’s data for 2025, that the highest cost of living was recorded in Denmark (+40% of the EU average), followed by Ireland (+36%) and Luxembourg (+32%). Bulgaria remains the cheapest country (-37%), followed by Romania (-35%) and Poland (-27%).
The largest gap is observed in housing costs: in Ireland they are 90% higher than the EU average, while in Bulgaria they are 59% lower. At the same time, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages differ the least: the highest are in Luxembourg (+22%), the lowest are in Romania (-20%).
