August 17, Fineko/abc.az. US chip giant Nvidia announced a $1.5 billion investment in SB Energy to secure power, land, and building capacity for OpenAI’s upcoming AI factory in Ohio.

Under the deal at the PORTS-Pike Technology Campus, Nvidia will provide up to $105 billion in credit support. OpenAI will serve as the primary customer under a 20-year lease, and the facility will exclusively host Nvidia’s AI computing infrastructure.

The initial 800-megawatt capacity is expected to go online in 2028. The six-year construction process through 2032 is projected to create 35,000 construction jobs and 2,500 permanent operational roles.
