May 20, Fineko/abc.az. Dutch company Oceanwide Expeditions, the owner of the MV Hondius, continues sale of cruises on the Atlantic Odyssey route from Argentina to Cape Verde, despite the previously recorded outbreak of hantavirus on one of the liners.
ABC.AZ reports that travel tickets cost up to €22,700, and the next flight from Ushuaia is scheduled for March 2027. Cruise options include routes without entering Antarctica (nearly €10,000, 33 days) and premium tours with visits to Antarctic territories.
The company notes that the MV Plancius vessel in use was built in 1976 and converted into a passenger liner in 2009. Earlier, the MV Hondius liner was evacuated after cases of hantavirus were detected among passengers.
