August 27, Fineko/abc.az. As part of its international portfolio expansion strategy in 2025, The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) finalized several key acquisitions. The company secured a 10% effective working interest in the offshore Tamar gas field in the Mediterranean Sea.

On the domestic front, SOCAR acquired an 80% stake in the Bahar and Gum-Deniz fields to expand its upstream footprint. The company also directed strategic investments toward digital infrastructure, petrochemicals, and the expansion of international gas exports.
