May 6, Fineko/abc.az. According to the latest reporting periods of the banking sector in Azerbaijan, the total volume of loans given to agriculture was recorded at the level of 2.1 bn manats.
ABC.AZ informs that CBA deputy chairman Togrul Aliyev said this during his speech at the V Agribusiness Development Forum organized in Baku within the Caspian Agro Week events.
He added that this indicator shows a rise of 14.5% compared with the same period of 2025: "In general, along with construction and transport, one of the main driving forces of our banks' business loan portfolio is the agricultural sector, which is regarded as a positive trend. As a whole, 82% of banks' agricultural loan portfolio consists of loans formed from their own resources of credit institutions, while the remaining 18% are loans financed through state funds."
Aliyev also noted that the volume of agricultural loans given through the Agency for Agrarian Credit and Development exceeded 66 million manats: "At the same time, nearly 40% of the loans given through the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund were formed from loans aimed at the agricultural sector. In addition, I believe this moment is of particular importance, since the cost of financial lease operations provided to agricultural entities and business entities through leasing companies through the Agency for Agrarian Credit and Development amounted to approx. 126 million manats."
