August 21, Fineko/abc.az. The first phase of the Zangezur transmission line construction—aimed at integrating the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic into Azerbaijan's main power grid and establishing the Azerbaijan–Nakhchivan–Turkiye–Europe energy corridor—is close to completion.

According to AzerEnerji JSC, 97% of the work has been executed on the 74 km long, 330 kV high-voltage power line with a transmission capacity of 1,000 MW stretching from Jabrayil to Aghband. Construction of the 296 transmission towers is being completed ahead of schedule despite challenging terrain and weather conditions.

The next stages entail constructing transmission lines from Ordubad to Nakhchivan (100 km), through the Zangezur corridor (44 km), and from Nakhchivan to Turkiye (230 km). The project is considered one of the largest energy initiatives in Azerbaijan's history, facilitating the export of green energy to European markets.
