April 14, Fineko/abc.az. Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) explored oil and natural gas deposits in the deepwater part of the productive Campos Basin on the Brazilian continental shelf, ABC.AZ informs, referring to company's press service.

Petrobras has stepped up exploration activities in its main subsurface areas in an attempt to develop additional reserves. The company has successfully drilled the Ruba exploration well in the contour of block C-M-477 at depth of 2,984 m, approx. 201 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

The presence of a hydrocarbon-containing reservoir was confirmed by logging diagrams, gas indications, and borehole fluid samples.

Petrobras is the operator of the C-M-477 block with a 70% ownership interest. Its partner is BP with a 30% stake.
