July 8, Fineko/abc.az. The 12th ministerial meeting on the Black Sea Green Energy Corridor project, bringing together senior government officials from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary has kicked off in Baku, according to Georgian media.

Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, is attending the meeting.

Participants will discuss the project's feasibility study and develop a detailed action plan outlining the next steps for implementing the Green Energy Corridor initiative.

The meeting is also attended by Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Hungary's State Secretary for the Ministry of Economy and Energy András Tóth, and Romania's Energy Minister Cristian Bușoi.

The 11th meeting of the Ministerial and Steering Committee for the "Development and Transmission of Green Energy" project between the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary was held in Tbilisi in 2025.

A memorandum of understanding on establishing a joint venture for the Green Energy Corridor project was signed by the four countries on July 25, 2023.

The Black Sea Energy project envisages the construction of a more than 1,155-kilometre power cable, including 1,115 km under the Black Sea and 40 km on land. The 525-kV cable will have a transmission capacity of 1,300 MW. Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2032, with the corridor expected to have an initial annual transmission capacity of 4 GW.
