July 7, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR Turkey and Pegasus Airlines signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of environmental aviation fuel.
The agreement aims to support the energy transition and the decarbonization process in the aviation sector of Turkey.
The document envisages parties’ cooperation in determining Turkey’s demand for eco-friendly aviation fuel, conducting feasibility studies to develop the value chain on this fuel, implementing business development and awareness-raising initiatives, and exploring opportunities for cooperation in sustainable aviation fuel both in Turkey and in other markets.
The partners also plan to establish a joint working group with senior executives to assess the readiness for the production and use of eco-friendly aviation fuel. This initiative is expected to contribute to development of a sustainable aviation ecosystem in Turkey and reduce carbon emissions in the aviation sector.
Turkey's largest integrated industrial group, SOCAR Turkey, continues its activities in the production of eco-friendly aviation fuel, development of supply chains, and technological partnerships. In turn, Pegasus Airlines plans to use its operational experience to assess market demand and support the effective use of eco-friendly aviation fuel in the aviation fuel supply chain.
