British farmers lose confidence in authorities due to tax reforms

January 22, Fineko/abc.az. Almost all of the UK farmers surveyed believe that the authorities underestimate agriculture and ignore its contribution to the society.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in a survey of close to 500 farmers conducted as part of Farmers Guardian campaign "Save UK Family Farms".

The discontent relates to changes in the inheritance tax, which, according to farmers, threaten family farms. Despite the increase in the tax-free threshold to 2.5 million pounds, confidence in the government remains low: only 11% of respondents admit support for the Labor Party.

More than 85% of farmers have reduced investments, almost half were thinking about leaving the industry, and the majority intend to continue resisting tax reforms, fearing negative consequences for the rural economy and future generations.
