December 30, Fineko/abc.az. Gas tariffs for iron production enterprises have been reduced in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ informs that the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan made the relevant decision.

The reduced tariff for natural gas has been established for the agglomeration (pelletizing) of iron ores and concentrates, as well as for the production of iron using direct reduction technology. The new tariff was approved at 200.6 manats per 1,000 cu m, including VAT, while the current tariff for the industrial sector is 240 manats for the same volume. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2026.

The decision was made within the policy of efficient use of the country's natural resources and is aimed at developing the industries covering the processing stages of ferrous metallurgy.

"The tariff reduction will contribute to the development of large processing enterprises for the production of iron and the formation of a full-fledged value chain in this area," the Council says.
