December 3, Fineko/abc.az. China has commissioned the Anji power plant with two 400 MW gas turbines produced at a joint venture between Harbin Electric and GE Vernova with the use of local components.

ABC.AZ informs that the project helps the country reduce its dependence on foreign technologies amid a shortage of energy equipment.

Gas generation is becoming more and more in demand in coastal regions, where development of onshore renewable energy sources is limited. China plans to increase its gas generation capacity from 150 to 200 GW by the end of the decade, and national companies are accelerating development of their own gas turbines.
