October 28, Fineko/abc.az. The construction of the Hormoz nuclear power plant in Iran is entering an active phase, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexey Dedov.

The concept has already been defined for the project and the first contract is being prepared.

The project, which provides for the construction of four power units with total capacity of 5,000 MW, will be located in the province of Hormozgan. The construction agreement was signed in September with investments of $25 billion.

In parallel, the parties are working to coordinate an intergovernmental protocol on the construction of low-power nuclear power plants.

In September, Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of cooperation on the construction of small nuclear power plants and implementation of this project in Iran.
