September 30, Fineko/abc.az. OpenAI has allowed ChatGPT users to make purchases using its popular artificial intelligence-based chatbot without leaving its platform.

ABC.AZ informs that so far, the feature only works for American users and applies to certain categories of products on platforms Etsy and Shopify. For integration, the company presented open standard, Agentic Commerce Protocol, designed to attract sellers. A commission is charged for transactions, the amount of which is not disclosed. The solution lays the foundation for development of trading using AI agents.

OpenAI stated that its goal is to create its own Agentic Commerce protocol, which will serve as a framework for merchants to reach more customers who can search for their products on ChatGPT.
