September 29, Fineko/abc.az. As of September 1, 2025, the assets of the Azerbaijani banking sector amounted to 55.67 bn manats (12.3% more than on September 1, 2024).

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, net loans given to customers totaled 26.98 bn manats. The loan portfolio grew by 9.9%, and the share of loans in assets decreased from 49.5% to 48.5%.

Over Jan-Aug 2025, banking sector's liabilities increased by 12.3% up to 48.595 bn manats, including growth of the deposit portfolio by 4.3% up to 36.517 bn manats. Of them, 15.86 bn manats are deposits from individuals, and 21.43 bn manats are deposits from legal entities. Over the past months, household funds in banks grew by 8.6%, while company funds in banks by 1.5%.

Banks' liabilities to the Central Bank decreased 89.6-fold to 500,000 manats.

The balance sheet capital of the sector increased by 12.1% up to 7.077 bn manats.
