Money transfers between U.S. and Azerbaijan declined

September 17, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2026, individuals transferred $46.5 million from the U.S. to Azerbaijan.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, this figure is 10.7% less against Jan-Jun 2025 ($52.1 million).

As a result, the share of the U.S. in overall money transfers coming into the country decreased from 9.8% to 6.2%.

In the opposite direction, the rate of decline is recorded at a higher level. Thus, money transfers from Azerbaijan to the U.S. declined by 25.2% year-on-year, falling from $40 million to $29.9 million.

Thus, the share of the U.S. in overall money transfers sent abroad dropped from 16.8% to 14.4%.

Despite this, net income from money transfers between the two countries amounted to $16.6 million.

Since this figure was $12.1 million in the relevant period of 2025, net income grew by 37.6% year-on-year. These figures did not include capital transactions.
