September 26, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan intends to attract a consultant within a month to implement the hydrogen strategy, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Rena Gumbatova, deputy director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy.

She noted that the idea of hydrogen economy in Azerbaijan arose in early 2020.

"Then the EBRD supported us, and we conducted a study of the hydrogen economy with one of the international consulting groups. It was a year-long study with very interesting results on LCOE (Leveled Cost of Energy, normalized cost of energy). So, LCOE for "green hydrogen" is estimated at about 3 euros per kg, which is quite competitive," Humbatova emphasized.
