September 22, Fineko/abc.az. In terms of the overall economic capitalization of the South Caucasus and Central Asia region, Azerbaijan naturally serves as a central hub not only geographically, but also in logistics, energy, and many other areas.
ABC.AZ reports that Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov made the above-said statement at the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025).
According to the minister, value proposition-both for Azerbaijan and the region-should be considered in this context: "Within the framework of the forum, we are discussing both fragmented economies and the role of developing economies. From a broader regional perspective, Azerbaijan is also economically associated with the Middle East, and this is no coincidence. The visionary projects being implemented-from the traditionally strong energy sector toward diversification, as well as the political framework and context-are aimed at clearer economic integration."
The minister noted that while the East–West corridor is often discussed and will undoubtedly remain important: "I believe there will be a very engaging panel on connectivity, and I invite everyone to participate. However, I also think the North–South corridor is a direction that should be followed just as attentively".
