September 2, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan and China have signed over 70 agreements and contracts worth more than $15 billion.
According to ABC.AZ, the signing took place during a meeting of the Kazakhstan–China Business Council. In his speech, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that China has already invested $27 billion in the country’s economy, with more than 6,000 companies operating with Chinese capital. The agreements cover sectors such as energy, digitalization, construction, metallurgy, telecommunications, transportation, and logistics.
Tokayev also emphasized that “China is, by destiny, a reliable neighbor, close friend, and eternal strategic partner of Kazakhstan.”
“Last year, bilateral trade reached $44 billion—a record figure—but we do not plan to stop there. Our goal is to significantly increase this number together with our Chinese friends over the next five years. We have the necessary potential, and at the level of heads of state, there is political will and mutual desire to strengthen cooperation,” he added.
