Lamborghini Clients Postpone Supercar Purchases Amid Uncertainty Over U.S. Tariffs

August 27, Fineko/abc.az. The wealthiest clients are postponing purchases of sports cars due to uncertainty surrounding U.S. import tariffs.

According to ABC.AZ, this was stated by Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann.

The White House and the European Union recently reached an agreement on 15% tariffs, but automakers are still paying a higher rate of 27.5%.

Given that Lamborghini prices start at $400,000, many buyers prefer to wait until the tariff situation stabilizes, Winkelmann said in an interview with CNBC.

He noted that tariffs will affect his company in any case, since Lamborghini manufactures exclusively in Italy and does not consider relocating production to the U.S.

According to Winkelmann, on average Lamborghini buyers own five cars, while purchasers of the most expensive models own around ten. The average age of buyers is under 45, and in Asia — under 30.

Lamborghini is part of the Volkswagen Group. In 2024, the company recorded record revenues of more than €3 billion, selling 10,867 cars.
