July 28, Fineko/abc.az. The implementation of the Zangezur Corridor will significantly strengthen Azerbaijan's strategic position in the South Caucasus region, ABC.AZ informs, referring to a report of Fitch Solutions, a member of the Fitch Group, dedicated to Azerbaijan.

It is noted that in 2023, Azerbaijan regained full control over Karabakh and is currently focusing on projects aimed at developing transport links in the region and creating direct land links with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. According to the report, the Zangezur corridor to be built through the southern part of Armenia will connect Nakhchivan with the main part of Azerbaijan and Turkey. This new transport route will create alternative communication opportunities and expand Azerbaijan's access to both the Caspian and Black Seas.
