Gazprom Posts 12% Fall in First-Half Profit

09:01 - 29.08.2026

August 29, Fineko/abc.az. Russia’s Gazprom has reported a 12 percent decline in its first-half profit.

According to the company, an increase in domestic supplies and exports to China is expected to drive a 6 to 7 percent growth in core earnings this year. As many of its sales are transacted in international currencies, a stronger rouble has resulted in comparatively weaker financial results reported in local currency.

Once the largest natural gas supplier to the European market, Gazprom has lost most of its European customers following the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022 and the resulting economic and political rifts with the West.
