July 22, Fineko/abc.az. It is expected that after the opening of the Zangezur Corridor, the costs of companies operating in the field of transport and logistics will reduce.

ABC.AZ reports that the secretary general of the International Association of Automobile Carriers of Azerbaijan (ABADA), Kenan Gurbanov, told journalists about this.

He pointed out that the commissioning of the corridor will make it possible to transport goods faster: "Reducing the distance will directly affect transportation costs, which, in turn, will create conditions for reducing transportation tariffs."

The secretary general stressed that the Zangezur Corridor will further expand regional trade relations and increase transit opportunities.

"As a result of the far-sighted decisions of President Ilham Aliyev, serious steps have been taken towards development of the infrastructure of the Middle Corridor. The Baku port, located in Alat, is of particular importance in this regard. If these steps had not been taken, we would not have been able to use the Middle Corridor in this form today. The construction of main roads in Azerbaijan was also carried out precisely with the aim of developing this corridor, and today we see the result," Gurbanov said.
