December 6, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with Malcolm Offord, Minister of Exports of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Ministry of Economy, that during the meeting Jabbarov stressed development of relations and expansion of ties between the countries in various sectors of the economy. Azerbaijan carries out effective trade and investment cooperation with the UK. The UK is the largest investor in our country.

The guests were informed about the measures and results being implemented in the country in the field of creating renewable energy sources, as well as initiatives for cooperation in the field of "green" energy. It was noted that SOCAR has made voluntary commitment to reduce methane emissions and stressed the importance of the working group between the Ministry of Economy and the British Chamber of Commerce & Industry in expanding economic partnership.

Malcolm Offord stressed UK’s desire to further develop trade and economic ties with Azerbaijan and pointed to opportunities for joint initiatives and cooperation in new areas.

The meeting parties discussed the organization of an investment forum to be held in London next year, the promotion of joint activities in the field of energy and decarbonization, and support for initiatives in the fields of export, investment and trade.
