October 4, Fineko/abc.az. Space Agency Azercosmos (under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have signed an agreement on cooperation in the creation of new satellites of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the Ministry that the agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 74th International Astronautical Congress in Baku.

According to the Ministry, Azersky-2 program will serve the further development of the space ecosystem in Azerbaijan.

Under the contract, two observation satellites will be developed within the framework of Azersky-2. These will be Earth remote sensing satellites with high-resolution electro-optical sensors. IAI will carry out design, assembly, integration and testing of the first satellite cluster device with participation of Azerbaijani specialists.

Israeli specialists will also support Azercosmos in designing a satellite development center to be established in Azerbaijan.
