Nestlé to sell mainstream vitamin brands for $1 billion

September 2, Fineko/abc.az.  Swiss food giant Nestlé has agreed to sell its mainstream vitamins, minerals, and supplements (VMS) business to US private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners for $1 billion.

The deal encompasses seven well-known consumer brands — Nature’s Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, Gard, Nuun, Puritan’s Pride, and Sisu — as well as dedicated manufacturing, packaging, and distribution facilities in the US. The divested portfolio generated $1.2 billion in sales in 2025.

Nestlé CEO Philipp Navratil stated that the divestment represents another key step in the strategic transformation of the company's portfolio. He noted that Nestlé is focusing its resources where it holds the strongest competitive advantages, retaining its science-led, premium VMS brands like Solgar and Pure Encapsulations while doubling down on core growth drivers such as coffee and pet care. Subject to customary regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
